On the 18th of November 2007, Taranaki remembered the death of Te Whiti 100 years earlier. The words of Titokowaru are appropriate to mention - "E kore au a mate, kā mate ko te mate, kā ora taku toa" (I shall never die, upon the death of death itself, my achievements will remain relevant).
