On the 18th of November 2007, Taranaki remembered the death of Te Whiti 100 years earlier.  The words of Titokowaru are appropriate to mention - "E kore au a mate, kā mate ko te mate, kā ora taku toa" (I shall never die, upon the death of death itself, my achievements will remain relevant).  The legacy and passion for rangatiratanga is very much alive today.
